On Friday, July 13th, 1979 in the west end of Alexandria, Virginia, Shooter McGee's had it's grand opening and has been happily keeping stomachs full and drinks cold ever since! This warm and inviting little restaurant and bar is where the foundation was laid for the company. Fat City Restaurant Group has been devoted to making their guests and team feel special while sharing their passion for food and drinks. The group hopes to continue to evolve, grow, and make people happy for another 40 years and more!

In 2008, the group took over Ramparts Tavern & Grill, in the north west side of Alexandria. Ramparts had been a locals' favorite since 1978. Recent renovations were made to revitalize this great neighborhood spot! In 2011, the group opened a new restaurant in the north end of Old Town, T.J. Stone's, designed with stone columns, warm wood floors, private dining room and a separate bar. In 2014, a space in The Trade Center was gutted and remodeled into a modern-industrial restaurant, called City Kitchen (or Fat City Kitchen). Its open floor plan creates a feeling of togetherness without losing intimacy and warmth. Come visit all of our locations!
Inspired by foods found in cities across America with a toast to their craft brews, wines, and spirits. Favorites: Maryland crab cakes, stone oven pizza, scallops with pork belly, and warm boursin cheese dip. Happy Hour at the bar, house infused liquors and 14 rotating drafts.
